Allyed, is a creative solutions brand that specializes in natural dyes. We offer eco-friendly garments crafted through a sustainable process, combining manual and industrial techniques with Peru’s natural resources. Our goal is to provide creative solutions that have a direct positive impact on society and the environment, fostering local community development while preserving nature.

Our Sustainable Process

  1. Communities
    We work directly with the communities, listening to their needs and respecting their traditions.

  2. Training
    We provide training and tools to our key suppliers to ensure scalability.

  3. Raw materials
    Botanical inputs are transported to our production facility, where they are sorted and safely stored.

  4. Production
    The garments are dyed with the botanical materials, following recipes developed by our textile technicians.

  5. Finishing touch
    We perform the final finishes to deliver the garments with the highest quality, showcasing the beauty and versatility of natural dyes.

Our Natural Sources

  • Achiote: The scientific name of Achiote seeds, Bixa orellana, is native to the Madre de Dios region in Peru, specifically collected from the Infierno Community. These seeds are known for their vibrant tint with orange hues. Achiote seeds find widespread application in numerous industries, including cosmetics, seasonings, soaps, varnishes, and more, primarily for their use in dye extraction.
  • Sanipanga: The scientific name of Sanipanga, Picramnia sellowii, is found in the Madre de Dios region of Peru, specifically collected from the Infierno Community. This unique plant produces leaves with striking purple hues. Sanipanga, native to South America, holds a longstanding tradition of utilizing its leaves as natural remedies for treating wounds and abrasions. Additionally, there is historical evidence of the extraction of a vivid purple dye from these leaves, known for its exceptional adherence to cotton fabrics.
  • Tara: The scientific name of the tara plant, Caesalpinia spinosa, is found in the Cusco region of Peru, specifically collected from the Rachi Community. This remarkable plant produces pods with a cool grey tint and is native to South America. The tara plant is particularly renowned for its pods, which are rich in tannins, making them highly valuable for various industrial and traditional applications.
  • Chilca: The scientific name of the chilca plant, Baccharis salicifolia, is found in the Cusco region of Peru, specifically collected from the Rachi Community. This versatile plant is known for its leaves with a warm grey tint. Native to arid regions of South America, the chilca plant has a rich history of medicinal use. Furthermore, its leaves contain compounds, including flavonoids, highly valued for their potential in the production of natural dyes.
  • Nogal: The scientific name of the nogal tree, Juglans neotropica, is found in the Cusco region of Peru, specifically collected from the Rachi Community. Nogal is characterized by its beige color and is a highly versatile species with applications spanning across various industries. Its roots, bark, leaves, and fruit are particularly valuable resources in the fishing industry, and it is also used to produce colorants for fabric dyeing, showcasing its diverse utility.
